Below is today's theme, some verses for contextual reference, a prayer written by a GCC member, as well as a few church members that you can pray for today! JANUARY 2ND - THEY PRAYED WHEN THEY MET TOGETHER

Theme: Prayer in the church - The prayer life of the New Testament provides a pattern from which the modern church can learn, both in terms of the importance of prayer, and also matters for prayer. Prayer was at the center of the life of the early church

Acts 12:12 So, when he had considered this, he came to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose surname was Mark, where many were gathered together praying.

Acts 21:5 When we had come to the end of those days, we departed and went on our way; and they all accompanied us, with wives and children, till we were out of the city. And we knelt down on the shore and prayed.

Acts 4:23–31 \ Acts 20:36 \ Acts 2:42 \ Acts 1:14

Dear Lord God, Please change our hearts so that our natural response to the needs and challenges of life will not be worry/anxiousness. Oh, that our natural response will mimic the early church saints and we would immediately default to consistent prayer until we hear from God with a hearty expectation of his answer and peace that surpasses all understanding. Thank you for the examples of prayer in your Word and may you be glorified by our response to the needs and challenges of life. - Ken Pittman
