Every great movement starts with a spark. Whether it’s a group of people gathering in a living room, a community coming together to meet a local need, or a new church taking its first steps, momentum is built when we step out in faith together.
This fall, we are stepping out in a big way.
Beginning this September and running through December, we are launching an intentional church-wide effort we are calling the Refuge Initiative.
At its core, the Refuge Initiative is about coming alongside our daughter church plant to help them build vital momentum as they look toward a major milestone: opening up a second service.
Starting a new church is an incredible journey, but the early seasons come with unique hurdles. One of the biggest challenges a growing church plant faces is breaking through the barrier of critical mass—having enough people in the room to create an inviting, vibrant atmosphere for guests who are walking through the doors for the very first time.
That is where we come in.
Over the next few months, our small groups will be intentionally rolling up their sleeves and heading over to worship and serve with our daughter church.
Instead of our usual rhythm for a designated period this fall, our small groups will mobilize to help fill seats, bring energy, and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our brothers and sisters in Christ. It’s a tangible way for us to practice what we preach: bearing one another's burdens and cheering on the broader body of Christ as it expands in our region.
As we get closer to September, we’ll be rolling out specific information for small group leaders and members on how and when your group can participate.
In the meantime, we invite you to start praying now. Pray for the leadership of our daughter church, pray for the new families and individuals who will walk through their doors this fall, and pray that God uses the Refuge Initiative to spark something truly remarkable in our community.
Let's build this momentum together.
