Could worship be the missing piece in how you face your week?

Day 7: Your Next Step Might Be Right Now

Key Bible Verse: “Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.”

Worship isn’t just what happens on Sundays—it’s also how we live Monday through Saturday. It’s your heart, your focus, your response to who God is and what He’s done.

Worship is how we say: “God, You’re first in my life.”

At Great Commission, we believe worship is both personal and public. You can worship in your car, in your kitchen, in a quiet moment at bedtime—or with your church family on Sunday. Worship happens in everyday places, not just sacred spaces.

Postures that Help You Connect

The Bible shows us that worship isn’t just internal—it’s physical too. People stood, knelt, danced, raised their hands, clapped, even laid face down in awe. These postures help our hearts catch up to what we know is true: God is worthy.

Try one of these during worship this week:

  • Lift your hands – Show surrender and reach for God
  • Close your eyes – Block out distractions and focus
  • Sing out loud – Even off-key worship is beautiful to God
  • Stay silent – Reflect and listen for God’s voice
  • Kneel down – Show humility and dependence
  • Move a little – It’s okay to worship with joy and energy

You don’t have to get it perfect. Just start with a willing heart.

Why Worship?

  • God is worthy—He created you, saved you, and walks with you
  • It reshapes your focus—away from your problems and onto His power
  • It’s a way to practice surrender—to say, “God, I trust You more than myself”
  • It’s how we fight spiritual battles—just ask Jehoshaphat (2 Chronicles 20:22)

Try This This Week:

  • Play a worship song in your car or while making dinner
  • Pick one new posture to try during Sunday worship
  • Invite your kids or spouse to join you—you’re leading by example!
